  • Once you complete this course you are expected to appear for National Medical Admission Test (NMAT). This is a two parts test; part one covers Verbal reasoning and quantitative while part two covers Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. There is no ranking of the test results like Indian entrance tests; you just need to pass the exams to be eligible for admission into Philippines medical colleges.
  • The passing percentage of NMAT test is 40% and not like a cut off percentage. Most of the medical universities looking at this passing mark for admission requirements only.
  • Once you enroll to the MD program you need to study 4 years of program as similar to Indian system.

Getting Philippines Student Visa

If you want to study MD / MBBS in Philippines, you need student Visa from Philippines Embassy in India. You can obtain your student visa in India and then travel to Philippines after that for study. But it is generally seen that getting a direct student visa from Indian Embassy takes time, so students get Tourist Visa first travel to Philippines and convert it to Student Visa after they land in Philippines.

Your university in Philippines provides the necessary documentation that helps you acquire a student visa at the earliest. It generally takes two months of time to get the tourist visa converted to a student visa.

Philippines Embassy gives student visa only after completion of 18 years of age. If you are at the age of 17 years of age and to travel to Philippines, you need to get a Special Study Permit (SSP) which is valid for six months. Every six months, this SSP have to be renewed until you cross 18 years of age and becomes eligible for general student Visa. All the universities and colleges accept SSP (Special Study Permit (9A)) for the enrollment in medical course. After you attain 18 years, SSP will be converted to Student Philippine Visa (9F).
